Sektor perkapalan penggerak ekonomi dunia

Cara sembahyang ketika berlayar.

Epaulet menunjukan pangkat seseorang diatas kapal.

We all in one ship, we must respect each others. - Malaysia Seafarer

Life onboard ship same today and yesterday?

Only best people can go to sea.

Many seafarers are asked how they ended up at sea! Just like somebody may ask a teacher or a bricklayer why he or she became one, the answers tend to be varied and often without path to the end result. One common reason for entering a particular career is because "my father did it and so did my grandfather". Some extremely obvious reasons for going to sea might have been to get away from home or to see the world; equally so many rusty seafarers today embarked upon their careers for lack of anything else to do, because some cranky careers advisor suggested they do so or because they had been recently dumped by the school hottie!
Seafarers are molded from any number of reasons with many having no clue as to whether they will become an engineer, mate or cook even after they have decided to sign up! Whilst others have had the sea in their blood since the day they were conceived.

The Industry has changed though. Many a salty seafarer will prop up the local bars in seaside towns the world over. They will regale those who will listen with stories that baffle and defy gravity, they will accept drinks from anybody who offers and in return will tell them "it's not like it used to be". And they are correct! Life at sea has changed dramatically in the last ten years and many (especially the old-timers) will say that it's not for the better.

Yes, the industry has changed and probably faster than when the steamship came along and rang the death knell on the sail ships. Ten years ago everybody decided that seafarers were suffering from stress, that ships should run like shore-based establishments and that people should be accountable for their actions; i.e. a paper trail should be laid. Ten years ago paperwork on ships was nothing more than the daily log; the typing of the monthly stores order onto the telex machine and some night orders hastily scribbled by the captain after has last gin and tonic of the night! And modern communications have brought ships into the civilized world. Ten years ago only cruise ships and research vessel could afford the large golf-ball satellite dishes on the monkey island, now all ships have them and the companies send emails and make telephone calls, not daily but the whole day, to the extent that captains and mates are now short of a secretary or two were once they were short of something to do!

Then, in these days of heightened safety cultures alcohol was suddenly frowned upon and the sustenance that kept many engineers and mates together and in one piece was removed from their grasp, a forbidden item that was to be no more.

It has not stopped there. As a result of 9-11, the terrorist attack on the world Trade Center in New York, the bureaucrats ashore rapidly suggested that ships could be used as potential bomb carriers (a laden gas tanker running up the St. Lawrence Seaway with a bomb onboard could cause untold loss of life and damage) and so ships and the people that sail them suddenly received a whole new host of regulations to follow and associated paperwork to fill in. The Chief Officers, once a figurehead to be frightened of, now has many hats to wear - safety officer, loading master and now the security officer!

Before the last ten years brought paperwork to ships and before masters found themselves in front of a computer more often than looking out of the bridge window, certain idealistic facets of a life-at-sea were conjured up in many minds! A wife in every port maybe? Cruising across the Atlantic sipping sherry on the mezzanine deck after having had a quick dip in the pool? A week in Tripoli, a Caribbean cruise and picking bananas before heading home to Barry (a port in Wales not the boyfriend)? It all sounds very nice, doesn't it?

Not many ships have swimming pools these days! If they do they won't have the sherry to drink! And anyway not many ships stay long enough in port these days to allow anybody to go ashore! Time is precious and port stays cost money!

Is there any reason why anybody should go to sea these days and if so what for?
As the paperwork and the bureaucracy have increased tenfold so has the nature of the job changed! Senior officers are now accountable for their actions, the bosses ashore are equally accountable for theirs, and so responsibility tends to lie where it is born and bred than shifted down to the lowest man in the pile! For those entering the business today this is fantastic, a clear cut and structured path ahead were everything is black and white - for those complaining about the change it is often due to an inability to take the change onboard, to grasp it and to realize that it is for their benefit too and not something forced upon them by a bunch of non-seafaring types ashore with nothing better to do with themselves except make up silly regulations.

Many would say that in their younger years they fell in love the world over, many would also say that they caught every disease imaginable that they were ripped off more times than they could count and that for the most part they couldn't remember anything anyway as they were too pissed! Most shore leaves were spent in alcoholic oblivion; the girl's of the night equally pissed but with a sober eye on the guy's wallet.

Life at sea has changed. Trips are more structured and the seafarers more professional than they ever were - life onboard depends on the individuals and how they accept the life, a life that no longer depends on crates of booze and alcoholic oblivion! Modern communications allow for easy access to phone calls home, no more waiting until land is seen and a painful session of calling up land based radio stations is enacted; the future states that all ships will have twenty-four hour internet access, with vessels looking towards wireless access for all onboard. Trips are getting shorter and the leave longer; the laughable idea of going to sea for ten months and having one month at home has been nearly replaced with equal time on and equal time off!
Work for six months of the year on a tax free salary?

And so why would seafarers go to sea today? They go because it is an honest career that brings the bread and butter onto the table. There might not be a wife in every port, the company may require the same written entries to be made in about six different books and logs and the Chief Engineer might be a grumpy old sod because he can't have drink but …….wow, what a life to be had!

Review about merchant navy officer

akademi laut malaysia - merchant navy officer

So you want to join the merchant navy as an officer? You've heard all those stories about being paid to visit foreign countries, haven't you? What about the girl in every port stories? And you must have been told about the exciting life we sailors lead, right? Are these stories true? Do you think you have it in you to sail the high seas? Well, I am here to tell you about the REAL merchant navy - some of the stories you've heard are true, some are not. I have been sailing for the past 23 years including 8 years as Captain so I am giving you an inside view.

Before we begin, let me first clarify something, the merchant navy isn't the same as the Indian navy. Merchant ships carry cargo as the name suggests, we are not the fighting navy. The cargo could be containers, oil, passengers, animals, bulk ore etc.

So what is the big attraction of the merchant navy? Usually two things come to mind - money and foreign travel. There are other benefits like tax free income, quick promotions and an exciting life. But the money is the main temptation. You get fat pay checks and you don't pay tax (if you stay out of the country for more than 6 months in a financial year). You start earning a big salary at a very young age.

To give you an example, the starting salary for a 22 year old 3rd officer or 4th engineer (junior most officers on board ships) on an oil tanker is be more than 1500 $ per month (conservatively speaking). This amount depends on the type of ship and the company you join so don't quote me! Officers normally work on a contract basis. Junior officers do 6 to 9 month contracts, while senior officers do 3 to 6 months on board. Remember that you get paid ONLY when you are on board. So technically, your salary is half of what you are said to get.

Why do ship owners pay you so much? There has to be a catch, right? The catch is, you stay away from home for extended periods of time. In fact you spend most of your time at sea rather than on land. Sure you get to visit foreign countries but things have changed now. Its not as if you reach a port and everyone goes ashore.

Work continues with every officer / crew member working in shifts (watches as we call them). You are free to go ashore once you have completed your watch but don't forget that you have to come back from your shore leave and work again. So, you either sleep or you go ashore. Work on a ship, never stops. As long as the ship is doing something - sailing, loading / discharging cargo, it's making money for the ship owner.

Port stays have gone down considerably so the ship is in port for a short time. Of course, this depends on the type of ship you are on. Container ships are in port for a few hours (YES few hours), oil tankers for 24 hrs, cargo ships and bulk carriers stay longer in port. Watches in port are usually on a 6 on 6 off basis, 6 hours on duty, 6 hours off duty, and then you are back to work. Hence you cannot go ashore in every port because you need to rest sometime.

The ship owner is paying you to stay on board, not to go ashore! Its not all bad news, you do get to go ashore and do some shopping and maybe sight seeing. Ports are normally far away from civilization. Travelling to and fro takes up time and is not cheap.

With visa restrictions post 9/11, many countries will not let you stay back for a holiday after you complete your tenure on your ship. So now you know why the ship owner pays you so much. You are being paid for staying away from family and home, you are being paid for long stints at sea and hardly any chance to go ashore. By the way, the girl in every port stories you have heard is pure myth!!! You will not get time to meet girls and if you do meet girls then they will be the wrong kind. Some companies do allow officers (usually senior officers) to carry their family (wife / kids) with them.

No problem you say, I can handle everything, just as long as I get paid well. That's just fine, as long as you are aware of what you are getting into. Expect to work with a multinational crew. Expect multinational cuisine. Expect cultural differences, your Captain could be from U.K. while the other officers / crew could be from Philippines, India, Croatia, Bangladesh or some other country.

This variety means that you may not have much in common with them. You might have to spend time alone in your cabin. Can you handle being by yourself? Of course, it might be possible that you are lucky and you get along with everyone, in which case you will enjoy yourself soaking in the various cultures. Or you could be luckier and get to sail with a majority of your nationality. It all depends on the company you work for. During your leisure time you can watch movies, play indoor games (cards, carom etc), work out in the gym (most ships have one) or just relax in your cabin.

Most companies allow officers to send emails home and receive them. Of course, there are restrictions on the number and size of emails after all, satellites are used for transmitting/receiving emails. You will get snail mail (conventional paper letters) when the ship touches port but usually not more than once a month.

Now we come to work. Each type of ship requires specialized crew. Each department on board a ship has different duties - the deck department looks after the navigation and loading / discharging of cargo while the engine department looks after maintenance of various machines. Life on board every ship is not the same. Some ships are old so you need to work harder to keep them running. Some ships are newer and are easier to work on.

Oil tankers, gas carriers need special training and experience. Container ships and bulk carriers have similarly experienced crew. While at sea, officers generally do 4 on 8 off - 4 hours duty and 8 hours off. This does not mean that after you finish your 4 hours of duty, you can go to sleep. No, you might have to work on other things like maintenance of machinery/equipment.

Normally officers and crew work 10 hour days. This is a general statement and is not a hard and fast rule. Work loads increase considerably, when ships are in port. Officers and crew are on watches throughout the day and night. There is no weekend for them - there is no such thing as a public holiday. If one officer falls sick, then the other officers on board share his duties until he is fit again. Normally ships do not carry doctors on board unless you are on a passenger ship. Ships carry medicines and all officers are trained for first aid / medical emergencies. Whenever ships touch port, medical treatment can be provided ashore.

Another aspect to think about is the weather. Ships do run into bad weather (read storms). Even the biggest ship is but a toy when up against the fury of the sea. Sea sickness is not something to be scoffed at. Before you take up a career at sea you had better make sure that you don't get sea sick. Take a trip on a boat to get the feel of things.

Right...now you are aware of various aspects of the merchant navy, money, foreign travel, life on board, work and rest hours, medical facilities, weather etc. What? You still want to join the merchant navy? Bravo!! We need guys just like you - guys who join with their eyes open, guys who don't have wrong ideas about a career at sea. So how do you go about joining the merchant navy? Information is available on the net. In addition, you can keep an eye out for advertisements in major newspapers.

A word of caution, don't be in a hurry to hand over money to some agent who assures you of a job at sea. Check his credentials; check the credentials of the company or training institution you intend to join. Preferably, find someone who is already at sea and who can guide you. This is one profession where a mentor is always a good idea.

I have been sailing for the past 23 years including 8 years as Captain. To me the merchant navy is wonderful. It has given me everything I dreamed of and wanted in life. Life on board ships isn't easy but its not as bad as it is made out to be sometimes. As there seem to be a lot of extreme views on this career, I have tried to give you the real picture. This is a serious profession where you have to work hard and your hard work pays (quite literally)!

I am a Merchant Navy officer living in Mumbai. When I am not sailing the high seas, I enjoy surfing the net, playing computer games, swimming, listening to music, and reading books.

Tapi yg x best nye...klau skali main tu memang x sah klau bola x mlayang ke laut la.
Purata 4 bijik bola sekali main yang hahaha sebab asyik terjun laut je bola so apa lagi trun shore leave kat bintulu tong-tong duit suh kadet beli la......

Shopping at Japan

Klau lame discharge best la lama skit dapat turun dapat tapi kena ingat juga duty...balik nak kena menjawab duty lagi penat oiiiii kerja kapal ni bukan senang.....tapi best hahahahaha ok sini aku nak cerita pengalaman aku bershopping kat jepon memang best...pengalaman yg x boleh dlupakan...pasal kat sane byk barang2 rare n pelik n murah especially barang electronik mcm PSP, kamera, playstation, laptop, jam Swatch, Ipod, gitar n mcm2 lagi la...Aku cadangkan klau korang nk cari barang elektronik yg murah2 kat jepon, pegi bandar Akihabara iaitu bandar elektronik...ataupon korang leh gi kedai jual barang 2nd hand...walaupon 2nd hand, tapi still in gud condition...puas hati beb...memang shopping x ingat la klau da smpi jepon nih!!!

story of watchkeeping officer - solat atas kapal....

soalan cepumas ttg solat dari teman2 landlubbers...syg nya solat ku sering lebuh...o god forgive me...help me help myself....

"kalau kat kapal camne korang semayang ea...pastu time semayang korang tu sama ke dgn time kitaorang kat darat ni semayang...ikut time kat KL ke time Mekah ke ape ke..??"

erk...itu ak no komen...ak ngan yg dok kat arasy je tau.....

tp kalau nk tau..scr general...mana2 krew yg Muslim tu...solat laa...x solat tu ak x nak cite...itu urusan dia...ak pun x nak cite aku nye status....tp yg aku tau...ade pendapat kata solat utk pelaut ni dibolehkan jamak...walaupun kalau ko tgk kapal aku nye accomodation complete macam rumah..tp sbb bergerak tu leh jama`...kira bukan cam keta nk berenti2 kat RnR utk solat ke...

still...ak pun x sure...sbb ade gak yg solat full 5 waktu...dia kata x leh lak jama`....pasal ape ak x tau...itu dia..

ko tanya aku.....ak ambik yg senang laa....tu pun payah gak nk buat...huhu...

"ko mmg...semayang x pernah lekat...kadang iya kadang x..."

sedap mulut ko ngata aku kan....tp mmg btul pun...masih try nk bg lekat...byk dugaan...huhuuu

"dah2...lebih2 lak..ni kalau solat tu..ko ikut time mana...wilayah ke..ape ke.."

ini....time solat ikut time zone laa...atas planet bumi ni ade 24 time zone...beza tiap2 zone sejam...kalau kata aku kat time zone +8....ak ikut time Malaysia atau mana2 negara yg duduk dlm time zone tu cam Siam ke..Singapore ke kan...

sama gak kalau kat tempat2 lain...tp itu kiraan kasar je...utk lebih tepat mcm jadual waktu solat yg surau ke masjid bg kat korang ikut negeri atau daerah masing2..korang perasan x waktu solat kat wilayah x sama dgn waktu solat kat Lumut...mahupun kat Padang Terap....

"haah laa..time solat kat darat ni pun beza ikut tempat....serius ak baru perasan....selama ni x angkat tau pun.."

hmm..tu la...nasib baik ko tanye kan...

"jumaat ade wat x...??"

x wat...x cukup courum....

"yeke...."

haah...

ok...smbung blik..

kalau yg ini salah...tlg inform ok...nk gak betulkan...and x nk kongsi ajaran sesat...thanx...

ok..

ahaa...

dr sini....baru leh dpt waktu solat...cam zohor...waktu dia dikira dgn waktu MP (tengah hari..dimana matahari berada tepat menegak 90 darjah pd latitud tersebut) tambah lima minit...kalau korang belajar kat skolah dulu..org tahu zohor bila tergelincir matahari....lebih kurang cam ni gak..cuma lg accurate...

"eh..serius btul gak kan...sama cam skolah ajar dulu..."

sama gak dgn maghrib...dikira 5 minit lepas sunset....asar lak kita dapat bila waktu zohor dan waktu maghrib ditambah dan jumlahnya dibahagi satu jam 20 minit....

"oh..asar dapat bila zohor campur maghrib...camtu eh..."

x tau laaa...ade member aku cakap ni salah...ak x ingat cara kira yg satu lg..sbb dlu ak blaja ikut method ni..

subuh lak agak complicated dan aku pun x paham prinsip sebenar kenapa dikira sedemikian rupa..tp scr praktis ia melibatkan terbit matahari...dlm kiraan...waktu subuh adalah ketika astronomical twilight...yg diperoleh dgn menginterpolasi waktu twilight yg sedia ada dlm nautical almanac iaitu civil dan nautical twilight.....

"amende twilight2 ko sebut nih...ak tau cite twilight je...yg tu mmg x leh kira waktu solat...."

ko tgk twilight ke mat...ish...sungguh ghey siall....!!!

"weyh..agak2 ar...ak tgk dgn awek ak kot....die yg ajak"

ngahaha...sudah laa...baik ak smbung je...xde keje layan ko mat...

masa zaman aku kira waktu solat ni....benda paling best adalah long passage yg mana kapal akan maintain course dan speed utk jangkamasa yg panjang...cam 5 atau 7 hari...selalu perkara ni berlaku time ocean passage...jadi..keje jadi senang..sebab leh terus kira utk 5-7 hari berturut2....tp kalau coasting tu sakit....sehari dua hari je leh kejar...silap2 hari2 kira...haha...

skarang...dah ade software yg tlg kirakan waktu solat ni...masukkan value cam zone time ngan DR position..the die tlg calculate kan utk kita....

still...ak masih blum dpt cari lagi mana kertas yg aku simpan wat kira waktu solat time ak kadet dlu...kalu ade nnt ak letak skali...tp skang ni...nmpak cam xde.....

xpe...janji ade general idea....dah...jom mesjid....

"erk....??"

masjid tanah....huahaha...

"sial..ko wat main2 lak benda camni...x baik doh..."

ok2.......

-come to sea and see for yourself-

Story Of Watchkeeping Officer - Oral Examinaton Itu Susah Tp Best Kalau dah Pass

"ok..pass.."

"yeah..terbaik lah..ape bende die tanye ko..?"

"ok2..mula2 die tanye..3rd attempt ea..sblm ni ngan examiner yg mana...ak cakap ar mula2 ngan Kapten Samad pastu Mr Aizuddin...then die bg soalan calculation ngan radar...suruh kira sun bearing pukul 0800 kat Port Klang ngan carik Meridian Passage time Port Klang gak..."

"owh..camne ko wat...pkai LIT ke Zone Time..."

"mula ak pkai LIT..pastu ak repair ak pkai ZT...ak cancel yg pkai LIT tu then bg jawapan yg guna ZT kat die...die tgk pastu x cakap ape2..ak rase cam btul je..."

"yang radar tu..amende ko kene..??"

"radar die bg situation..ade 3 bearing ngan range...dia bg own ship course ngan speed...the tunjukkan action yg aku ambik...ak plot as per radar plotting proper...ade sume OA line..WO ngan WA...then aku nye action ak wat course alteration...die tanye ko alter course brape degree..ak kate hard to stbd...die blur..ak cakap 60 degree...to new course 200 true...then die suruh aku interprate...tunjuk camne rupa kapal aku ngan kapal yg aku observe..siap ngan action...abis tu die sruh ak blah kuar..tunggu smpai die panggil"

"then...??"

"haa..dah pass tu ape lg..belanje ar member2...ngahaha.."

"roger2..ak x kisah...tp xde ar makan kat hotel ke kan..mana aku mampu balje ak blanje ar k...ngahahaha.."

story of watchkeeping officer - x pass lagi oral exam aku...?

merenung masa depan yg belum pasti...

entri bahasa Malaysia..sy x suka tulis bahasa Melayu..cam rasis je bunyi nye..

Disember 14 2009...

sebulan lebih menuggu utk 2nd attempt...aku digagalkan atas sebab ketidak kompetenan dan kecelaruan knowledge ttg radar dlm masa satu jam...

org tua aku dah bising..."ape masalah ko nie..susah sangat ke exam ko..?"

sape yg dah pass dan ade knowledge cam master 25 tahun bawak kapal memang akan kate senang dan org tua aku x terkecuali...aku...?

untuk rekod..ini adalah major setback aku yg ketiga untuk 2009...yg mana first setback aku adalah fail dlm radar course..menyebabkan aku kene recourse dan duit aku sebanyak rm1800 akan melayang...2nd setback adalah gagal oral exam first attempt bulan 10 ari tu...

aiseh...org lain dah pass..dah naik kapal..merasa duit gaji kompeni..aku dok mengagau lagi dengan buku practical navigation dan regulations yg maha dahsyat banyaknya utk di hafal...

okey fine...aku x salahkan examiner sebab tugas dia memang utk meneliti level of competency setiap calon bg membolehkan mrk utk berkhidmat diatas kapal2 yg didaftarkan di malaysia supaya pada akhir hari bukan mereka yg dipersalahkan kalau berlaku kecelakaan atau kematian atau kemalangan...dan bukan tugas dia utk menggagalkan calon melainkan calon itu sendiri tidak memenuhi kehendak industri...

sekarang aku dah nampak...bukan senang nak senang dan bukan susah nak susah...dah bersusah susah pun masih dlm keadaan susah....hmm..luck mmg xde hujung tahun nie...karma dalam keadaan bercelaru dan jiwa penuh dengan kemaksiatan...

maka..kembalilah aku kepada buku2 yg menimbun utk diulangkaji semula...knowledge aku masih belum cukup utk meyakinkan examiner yg aku layak utk meredah samudera raya yg penuh kecelaruan dan ketidakpastian...

kepada yg sama2 x pass dgn aku dlm attempt kali ni...kita blaja lagi...coz we were meant to learn life the hard way...!!

kepada yg dah pass...congrats guys and u deserve all the hard work...aku akan cuba kejar korang... dan aku masih belum give up lagi...!!!

better luck next time...

Story Of Watchkeeping Officer - Sekarang Saya 4th Officer

check BA set nye face mask..x ok krg ade yg mampus..ak x nk jawab kt akhirat nnt..

ya benar..4th officer atau dlm bahasa Malaysia dipanggil pegawai awasan geladak keempat...term ni digunakan oleh konsortium perkapalan yg menggaji saya iaitu MISC Berhad..bg menggantikan terma Jr 3rd Officer...tp balak masih sama lagi...

ape kerja 4th officer nie...??

keje die makan dan tido..selain kene marah dgn org tua (kapten) sebab lambat naik watch atau malas wat maintenance mahupun x turun deck waktu pagi bersama2 chief officer...huhu..

xde arh..tu aku kalau aku malas nak mampos...

kerja 4th officer nie sama cam 3rd officer..cuma rank die je rendah skit dan gaji pun x smpai RM7500.00 sebulan...beza 4th ni adalah die ni diletakkan dlm observation oleh pegawai2 senior iaitu chief officer dan master..utk menilai samada mamat 4th nie leh keje ke..kompeten ke atau habuk pun xde...kalau prestasi memusakan..dpt la naik pangkat jd 3rd officer..dan dapat gaji RM7500.00 tuu...huhu...

aiseh..keje die adalah memastika bahawa semua peralatan memadam kebakaran (Fire Fighting Appliances) dan peralatan menyelamat nyawa (Life Saving Apparatus) berada dlm keadaan baik..dijaga dan diperiksa keadaannya agar dpt berfungsi dan digunakan sebilang masa ketika kecemasan...selain kalau ade ape2 maintenance yg memerlukan peralatan tersebut di hantar ke darat kpd agen utk di repair..maka beliau kne make sure yg chief officer dan master tahu dan peka bahawa perlatan tersebut perlu dihantar utk maintenance..selain make sure yg maintenance tu btul2 dibuat dan bukan caca merba je...ni idup mati nie...

selain dr tu..keje 4th nie termasuk gak..menjadi pegawai awasan di anjungan...atau dlm bahasa penjajah..menjadi bridge watchkeeping officer..atau officer of the watch bg operasi kargo...selain kalau ade operasi2 cam anchoring atau mooring....4th ni gak kne ade kat forward station atau aft station utk assist dan supervise operation..jgn ade kadet mkn wire atau krew kene libas ngan anchor...

sebagai sampingan...4th ni gak agak berkaki lebar dlm kerja2 mengajar kadet yg baru naik kapal..lagipun..beliau fresh lagi dari oral exam maka kesempatan ni patut digunakan kadet2 bg belajar teknik2 dan taktik2 yg diperlukan dlm exam tersebut...dgr tu kadet..!!!

bukan senang keje kapal...gaji mmg besar...responsibility pun besar...silap je..diri sendiri mampus..jawab kat mahsyar nnt...

jom overhaul engine kapal

Nie antara experience ak tyme sailing dulu...overhaul engine kapal..penat woo.bukan engine motor neh..siap kena masuk dalam engine lagi nih..mengambil masa lebih kurang 12 jam seingat aku laa..kalu da major work camnie takleh stop2 dah..one shot je..wat sampai siap..4 ur info untuk run a ship standetnye kapal kontena or tanker nie ade satu engine je...laen laa kalo ferry ade laa 2 3 engine..name pun bawak penumpang kan..nanti kalo rosak satu ade lagi satu..takde laa penumpang nak merungut..kapal cargo takpe laa..satu pun da cukup laa..kalo rosak n lambat pun tkde laa cargo nak merungut kan..hohoh

berbalik kepada cerita overhaul engine tadi..kalu da keje 12 jam tu slalunye gilir2 jela naek makan n solat pahtu sambung balik sampai laa siap..atas nasib laa..kalu laju maka laju laa tamat keje maka bleh laa turun darat plak..yea~..nie laa yang dinantikan kalo kat port nih..salah satu lagi factor kenapa kena cepat..sebab kadang2 cargo yang nak loading kat satu2 port tu ckit je..so takkan amek mase lame..selalunye kapal kontena laa..isi barang kejap je..nanti tak sempat laa mau berjalan2 plak..hoho..kalu kapal tanker nie amek mase lame ckit..so leh wat keje rilek2 ckit laa..takde laa nak rushing sangat....picca di bawah adalah tyme 1st time ak participate dalam overhaul main engine...nie nak tukar piston kapal neh..erk bahasa melayu orang panggil ape yerk..omboh kot..hoho

haa..nie gambar ak kat dalam liner..erk ape ek liner dalam bahasa melayu..argh aku pun tatau laa kengkawan..erm kirenye dalam tu terletaknye piston/omboh..emm dalam bahasa yang lebih senang erk ape ek..liner lah..(wat2 tau jela sesape yang tatau)..disebabkan aku nie slim lagi ramping maka ak laa jadik mangsa kena masuk dalam..cuci2 lap2 ckit n cek condition surfacenye sebab nanti nak letak piston baru so suasana persekitaran kena laa baru jugak..dalam tu amatlah panas kerana engine kapal selalunye sentiasa maintain temperature 60-70 darjah celcius..macam dok dalam ketuhar laa jadiknye..berapa kedalamannye?..erm aku pun da lupa dong..tapi kalu da kena pakai tangga tu korang agak2 laa sendiri..opkos laa agak dalam jugak..tapi pape pun sempat lagi ak berposing..hehehe~

Nie laa gambar piston/omboh kapal..kelihatan di situ membe ak tengah membersihkan piston itu..walaupun membe aku nie da 2 kalu size ak tapi besar lagi piston tuh..hurm.nak angkat pun pakai kren laaa..nie piston crown..kire kepala die sahaja..batang die kat bawah tu panjang lagi..sedalam lubang liner tadi lah..otai2 lame atas kapal cakap nie kire takde laa besa mane lagik..ade lagi yang lebih besar walaupun ak rase yang nie da agak besar laa..agak2 pasang kat motor nie laju macam jet tak?hoho~..kapal yang ak naek nie 6 unit semuanye so ade 6 piston lah untuk main engine nih..nanti bleh laa wat balik umah try pasang kat motor atau kat keta..hoho.leh lawat F1 kot..

perjuangan belum selesai

Jemputan khas Kapal LNG Seri Balqis

Kapal Seri Balqis belayar merentas samudera

My discharge port kat Taiwan adalah Yung An. Ada LNG discharge port kat situ... A little bit new terminal....

Disini lah tempat berkumpul. Kalau nak tukar duit pun disini...
Believe me, kat sini harga lebih kurang Malaysia jeee.... Oh, kat sini jugaklah ada McD. Tapi ko berani ke nak makan? member aku pegi je McD, tapi makan FILLET-O-FISH... makan sajorkkkkk... yang penting, KONFIDENNN...

Carrefour GREEN Program.... oh no... nasiblah aku tak beli banyak sangat barang. AKu beli brgan stationaery aku. U know what... NO PLASTIK BAG!!!! Kalo nak beli... so basically, kalo beli barang, lepas bayar kat kaunter, pastu terus kluar mcm tu jeeee....

Imagine la kalo time tu aku beli PILLOW ke BOLSTER ke kan... pas bayar, bawak camtu je, no plastik, dahla tak bwk bag time tu... kan jadi org gila bawak bantal sana-sini........~!
Harga? Oklah... murah la sket... murah dalam RM40 gitu lah... mOstly officer beli external 2.5 500GB... dalam rm290-rm300 ... oklah... beli sjorkkkk...

Yang pasti paling murah adalah brangan GUNDAM.... member aku cakap tersangatlah MURAH... sehinggakan mereka memborong GUNDAM tersangatlahh banyakkkk.... dlm 5-6 kotak besar gituuu.....
ENGLISH plz? no english.... only mandarinnnn!!!... bring ur dictionary ke ape kee... nak bagitau taxi nak kemana susah gilerrrr..... kami cakap ngan pegi area jual computer, dier bawak kami ke kedai main game [main game mcm kat Satok tuh]... hahaha... then Taxi tu berborak panjang dengan aku di dalam taxi dlm bahasa Mandarin nyaa.... apa aku buat? aku hanya mengangguk-angguk-geleng-geleng dgn ditambah "SHI~!" "SHI~!"... Pastu aku akan sebut "IK YEK SANG SEK"...

SAY yes to scooter........!!! Semua motosikal adalah scooter... 100%... tiada jenis yg lain... GREEN la katakannn...
P/S: Belajarlah MANDARIN.... aku tengah study mandarin lah nihhhhhhhh!! I'll be in TAIWAN again 24-25 SEPTEMBER 2009... cya

PENGALAMAN BELAYAR ZAMAN KADET

KAPAL MISC

Perbezaan saiz LNG AMAN dan TENAGA

Assalamualaikum..

Hari ini aku ingin berkongsi pengalaman pelayaran aku dengan pembaca blog in semasa practikal sebagai 2nd year student. Practikal diatas kapal LNG sedikit membosankan makulujm la Bintulu-Jepun-Taiwan-Korea klau Tenaga Kelas mungkin best sket sebab main belah2 Europe tapi yang xbest pulak xboleh balik Malaysia...."ala kejap je xbalik" APA????sekejap mau sampai habis tempoh la klau 3rd mate mau 6bulan juga la tersiksa jiwa dan raga o000..=)

Tersasar dari cerita asal dah ni, ok time kadet aku 3 kapal special skit (kebanyakan batch aku time tu semua 2 kapal je) sebabnya???? Hurmm aku pun xtahu dah offis kata macam tu, itu la kata aku xkan nak bangkang pulak kot=) First ship aku Kapal Puteri Satu Class wahhhhh time tu gempak la dapat naik Puteri Class maklumla kapal baru deliver, aku memang xtahu apa2 langsung tentang kapal (kat ALAM just teori betul x adik2) asyik la kena marah dengan Bosun la C/O la Kapten la adoiiii seikhlasnya apa yang aku imaginekan memang lain dari realitinya. Hapir semua perkerjaan dari kerja GP deck------>kerja C/O aku kena buat menyecat, stnecil, wire brush, sapu sampah, scaling, check ubat (ikut 2nd officer), Filing, tarik wayar (preparation masuk port), navigation, cargo operation dan lain2 penat nak cerita banyak sgt memang kena lanyak abis biasala 1st Ship Kadet Zero knowledge( Bukan Zero accident Zero Incident tau).

Tapi alhamdulilah just 3 Bulan aku kat 1st ship Puteri Delima satu, then aku ditransferkan ke Puteri Zamrud. Puteri Class lama dibuat oleh France jadi disignnya agak lain sket la buat pengetahuan korang la so disebabkan aku 2nd ship Kadet, Krew2 pun respect la sket dan sedikit sebanyak kerja tahula aku buat walaupun xtau buat2 tau je la yala nama pun 2nd ship kadet walaupu 3 bulan je 1st ship kadet. Disini time tu C/O Ruhaifi oarangnya relax cool tapi klau assignment x hantar cukup bulan sakit la ada la member aku yang terhantar lambat selamber biawak je dia koyak wahhh kesian aku tengok member aku penat2 dia copy buat kena konyak la pulak nasib la labu.

Mahu x mahu kena la juga nak buat macam mana kan...Naik la aku SS AMAN BINTULU memang betul2 kecik pusing satu kapal pun xpenat lagi=) Kat sini aku jadi macam kadet baru balik coz 90% sistemnya lain kapal buatan Jepun lama sistem masih lagi manual lagi cargo operation klau Puteri dah guna DCS (distribution Control System) tapi kapal lain sket smua guna tett, tettt, tettttt ya semuanya button.

Bagi aku antara ketiga2 kapal ini AMAN paling mecabar la so kepada super duper junior ALAM yang baru nak belayar for 2nd year, aku wish all the best dapat kapal ape2 pun naik je lagi banyak lagi experience jangan melekat kat satu kapal je nanti korang nah naik officer susah sket la =)

CERITA TENTANG KADET-KADETKU

Pe yg aku nak cite kat sini, masa duk di atas kapal setiap cadet ada task yg tersendiri yg mana kene completedkan sume task b4 balik ke ALAM.So di sini lah aku merasa mcm mana jd seorg guru hehehe...ni lah cadet pertama aku ...Azali namanya org miri.Aku wat mcm kawan je lah coz x reti nak ajar mcm cikgu ajar hehehe sampai sekarang masih lagi ok dgn aku.dah berjaya jd 2nd officer kat kapal pucau mana aku pun x tau ...

Razieman ni org johor...cadet aku yg jiwang karat ...layan je lah tapi yg aku musykil mak ayah dia benarkan plak dia ni belayar walaupun dia ni anak tunggal...dah belayar last month dan 1st time nak jd jr 3rd officer...jgn di tabrak kapal org dah ....

Aku lupa nama penuh dia tapi aku panggil Ijat je lah...antara yg aku takut kalau belayar dgn dia coz sume ok je....Walaupun fishing boat penuh dia leh lagi bersembg2 huhuhu tapi sekarang dah lulus exam.friendly speaking lah aku pon heran mcm mana dia leh lulus....masih lagi x belayar tapi MISC masuk duit tiap2 bln coz sekarang krisis ekonomi jd banyak kapal x jalan.

Tarmizi hehehe panas baran sungguh, kalau dgn aku kat kapal mcm nak melekat je kat aku .Kadang2 rimas pun ada coz tiap kali sampai port nak ikut aku ish3 tension tapi sekarang dah pas exam...tunggu naik kapal je lagi.

Ni Peng dan syuk .... masa naik dah jd senior cadet so x banyak kerenah lah.Syuk dah naik kapal dah tapi peng aku x dapat nak kesan...mungkin dah blah gak kot dr misc.

Cadet aku yg paling banyak problems....suria azhar yg pakai overall kuning ...mati kutu aku di buatnya.Nak marah kesian tapi x marah makin jd2 huhuhu..tp alhamdulillah dia dah jd jr 3rd off tapi sampai sekarang cite pasal dia masih lagi org cakap.

Tapi pe pun perangai dah ragam diaorg aku bangga coz setiap dr meraka yg aku pernh ajar akan col aku dan cakap " 3rd...sy dah lepas oral dah...1 shot je "
Bila dgr je ungkapan ni aku rasa bangga sungguh coz selama duk atas kapal aku ajar, aku denda, aku marah berbaloi...non of them simpan dendam dgn aku hehehe
Pe yg aku nak cakap kat sini terutama kawan2 aku yg duk jd cikgu sekarang ni...mmg susah tapi tu akan jd kenangan paling manis coz kita didik anak bangsa kita dgn ikhlas.
